JOB SUMMARY

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Operations Support Coordinator reports directly to the Facility Coordinator and indirectly to the HSE Manager. The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Operations Support Coordinator works closely with the Dockside Superintendents, Cleaning Technicians and Water Treatment Operators. The HSE & Operations Support Coordinator must understand and be involved in all safety issues at the RCS Shore base facility and is responsible for safeguarding the organization from internal and external threats. This is a “hands-on” position that serves as a resource for the shore base operations. This position requires continuous implementation and support of company expectations to protect employee health, safety and the environment. This job description is a brief description of the job function. The HSE & Operations Support Coordinator is not limited to the job duties listed below, and may be asked from time to time to perform other miscellaneous job duties.  This is a 7-on/7-off position at the RCS Fourchon shore base facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops preventive measures and document issue resolution procedures.
  2. Addresses customer issues promptly and accurately.
  3. Self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  4. Able to work well in a team-based environment.
  5. OrganizedExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Develops and maintain effective business relationships.
  7. Strong computer aptitude. Ability to learn and use internal PC based systems.
  8. Facilitates and assists during routine visits, audits or inspections of RCS facilities.
  9. Focuses on identifying hazards, assessing and controlling risks associated with facility operations. 
  10. Promotes a culture of continual improvement for reducing health, safety, security and environmental risks.
  11. Communicates company safety expectations to employees as well as visitors (including local, state and federal regulations).
  12. Works with the Facility Coordinator and HSE Manager to investigate workplace accidents and incidents and ensures that policies and procedures are in place to avoid future accidents and incidents.
  13. Supports operations as a resource for compliance and safety solutions.
  14. Audits facilities and systems to identify improvement opportunities and provide assistance in reaching goals and objectives.
  15. Attends and participates in daily safety meetings.
  16. Performs administrative and office support activities.

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  2. Must have good verbal, communication and writing skills.
  3. Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including OSHA, EPA/LDEQ, and USCG.
  4. Ability to effectively present information, communicate with, and respond to questions and complaints from co-workers, management, and customers.
  5. Demonstrated people and leadership skills including conflict resolution, team building and excellent communication skills.
  6. Must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly and must also be able to work well in teams to coordinate various special projects while being enthusiastic and displaying a positive attitude.
  7. While demonstrating a professional maturity, the HSE & Operations Support Coordinator must present a professional appearance and demeanor.
